International Collaboration Fund 2025
Funded projectPhantom-Based Validation Platforms for Human-Relevant Biomedical Imaging Technologies
FUNDING TARGET
Cluster 1 - Health
This project will build an international collaboration to develop advanced tissue-mimicking phantoms for validating next-generation medical imaging systems. These phantoms replicate human anatomy and blood flow, supporting safe, reproducible testing without animal use.
The ICF award will support strategic visits and technical discussions between the University of Dundee and key European partners to finalise a Horizon proposal, prioritising the development of a strong, aligned project plan for imaging phantom validation platforms that support human-relevant, reproducible biomedical research.
Funding will enable in-person collaboration to better understand partner system specifications, exchange knowledge across imaging modalities (LIDAR, NIR/MW, ultrasound, photoacoustics, super-resolution), and ensure methodological compatibility.
